Ideogram Vector Exports SVG. Lock the Raster Mark First.
Ideogram Vector turns a prompt or image into editable SVG. Do not ask GPT Image 2 for paths. Lock a simple raster mark first, then vectorize, and overlay type last.

Ideogram’s Vector product page is live as of 25 October 2026. It generates scalable, editable SVG from a text prompt or from an existing image. The API ids are ideogram-vector-1 on two routes: text-to-vector at POST /v2/svg/generate/ideogram-vector-1, and image-to-vector at POST /v2/svg/vectorize/ideogram-vector-1. If you already have a mark, icon, or pack graphic that matches the brand you ship, do not describe it from memory into a new raster prompt and hope the SVG comes back honest. Lock the raster first. Name what stays. Ask for few colors and empty type. Inspect. Vectorize that file. Overlay real letters last. FreeGPTImg is a GPT Image 2 workspace: 20 daily free credits, no credit card required. It does not run Ideogram Vector and it does not export SVG.
Keep the raster loop in FreeGPTImg. Stay on GPT Image 2 when that is the label on the screen, explore a first mark in the AI logo generator, invent a first frame only when you have no file in text to image or the free AI image generator, edit a locked hero in image to image, keep materials honest if the mark sits on a pack in AI product photography, and recrop a feed frame in AI social media ads.
What shipped, and what did not
Three names still land in one folder. Mixing them is how a vectorizer turns a clean cup icon into a second handle made of twelve extra paths.
- Ideogram Vector (
ideogram-vector-1). Ideogram’s product page calls this Ideogram Vector. It makes logos, print designs, and illustrations as SVG from a prompt or from an existing image. Text-to-vector takes a prompt; image references are optional. Image-to-vector uploads a JPEG, PNG, or WEBP and converts it without a prompt. The docs cap that source at 50 MB and offersimple, detailed, andautomodes. Recheck Ideogram’s page before you quote a teammate a price. - A raster Ideogram image. Ideogram still generates pixel images on other models. A PNG from Ideogram 4.5 is not an SVG. Do not rename a raster export
.svgand call the job done. - A GPT Image 2 still. That is the raster you own. FreeGPTImg generates and edits stills here. It is not an Ideogram playground and it does not write path data.
Pricing on Ideogram’s Vector page, listed as USD per SVG: text-to-vector Low $0.13, Medium $0.16, High $0.20, or $0.32 at High when you attach references; image-to-vector $0.10. Those are Ideogram’s published API prices, not a badge to bake into pixels. The page also says you can adjust colors in the SVG and refine individual elements in a vector editor after export. That editor is Illustrator, Figma, or similar — not a GPT Image 2 tab.
The cheap failure this week is not “I forgot the API key.” It is “text-to-vector sounded faster, so I typed the brand and got a cousin mark that now scales.”
Name the job: raster, then paths
Weak sets fail because they ask one prompt to be a trademark, a 4K pack shot, a 9:16 story, and a “ready-to-print SVG.” Name the job first.
| Job | Start from | Generate in | Keep | Wrong move |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Locked mark already honest | That PNG or JPEG | Image-to-vector later | Silhouette, color count, empty type | Text-to-vector from a new paragraph |
| One simpler view of the same mark | Locked raster | Image-to-image, then vectorize | Geometry, palette | “Make it more SVG and more premium” |
| Wordmark concept, letters not final | Geometry only | Raster first | Empty type | Baking “OPENING SOON” into paths |
| Pack still that shows the mark | Locked pack photo | Image-to-image, field only | SKU, printed mark | Inventing a second logo on the bottle |
| Social crop of the mark | Locked raster | Recrop after the still is honest | Empty headline | Stretching a cousin icon into 9:16 |
| New mark, no file yet | A real sketch if you have one | Text-to-image, then lock | Few shapes, few colors | Asking GPT Image 2 for an .svg |
| Vector pass | Locked raster | Ideogram Vector image-to-vector, elsewhere | Same silhouette | Asking the vectorizer to redesign the handle |
| Price or “Vector 1” note | Don’t generate it | Editor, overlay last | Empty $ / model ID | “$0.10 SVG” badge on the mark |
A text-to-vector pass invents. An image-to-vector pass should borrow. If you already paid for a raster that matches the mark you ship, that file is truth. Editable paths do not get to grow a second leaf.
Raster checklist before Ideogram Vector
Use this sequence on GPT Image 2, then take the file to whatever Ideogram Vector tab you actually use. Do not paste a product-page slogan into a creator prompt and expect the model to keep the mark.
- Find the locked raster. One JPEG or PNG of the mark, icon, or pack graphic that already matches what you ship. Flat field, subject filling most of the frame, few colors. If you do not have that file, stop and draw or scan one. Do not invent it from a paragraph because SVG got a product page this month.
- Write keep / change / do-not in five lines. Keep silhouette, color count, and any geometry that is already approved. For the raster, change only one noun: simplify, flatten, crop, or field. For the later vector pass, change only the file type. Do not add a second mark, a wax seal, a QR code, or a slogan.
- Name the engine on the screen. If the tab says GPT Image 2, write
gpt-image-2into the raster filename. If you later run Ideogram Vector, write that on the SVG file, not on the JPEG. Do not relabel a GPT Image 2 still as Vector. - Simplify before you vectorize. Few shapes. Two or three flat colors. Hard edges. No photo grain, no fake paper texture, no tiny serifs that will become fifty paths. A vectorizer copies complexity. It does not know which leaf you meant.
- Generate or edit the raster first. Image-to-image starts from pixels. Text-to-image is only for a first mark when no file exists. A prompt without the file is invention wearing a costume.
- Ask for empty type. Prices, percents, “Ideogram Vector,” “SVG,” “NEW,” and legal lines never belong in the generator if they must be exact. If the mark is a wordmark, set the real letters in a vector editor after export. Do not ask either model to spell the company name unless you will inspect every glyph at 400%.
- Leave production room. Mark in the middle. Quiet field. Do not fill every edge with ornaments that will explode into paths.
- Generate one raster. One pass. File names like
leaf-mark-three-color-gpt-image-2.png. - Inspect the subject before the paths. A sixth petal, a new serif, a badge reading “Vector,” or a tag that says “™” are stop conditions. Hold the raster next to the real mark. If a stranger would think this brand grew a second icon, discard it. SVG will not fix a dishonest raster. It will print it at every size.
- Only then vectorize. Upload the locked raster to image-to-vector. Pick
simpleif the mark is geometric, detailedonly if the source is already line art you trust. Do not also ask for a new palette, a mascot, and a hang-tag. - Overlay copy last. In a vector editor, set the real wordmark and only the claims a manager signed. Recolor from brand hex. Recrop to 1:1, favicon, and print sizes after the paths match. Do not ask either model to spell the offer.
Prompt formula for the raster
GPT Image 2 raster for a later SVG pass, not an Ideogram Vector demo and not a trademark filing.
Start from the uploaded mark, or describe one original symbol only if no file exists.
Keep: exact silhouette, color count, geometry, quiet field.
Change only: [simplify / flatten / crop / field].
Few flat colors, hard edges, no photo texture.
Text in image: none. No “SVG”, “Vector”, “™”, prices, slogans, or watermarks.
Do not add: extra icons, extra leaves, drop shadows, mockups, celebrity faces, children.
Prompt examples
Locked leaf mark, flatten only. “Image-to-image: keep this exact three-leaf silhouette and two-color palette. Change only: flatten to hard-edge shapes on pure white. No extra leaves, no slogan, no ™.”
Icon on white, then vectorize later. “Image-to-image: keep this exact cup-outline icon, handle curve, and navy fill. Change only the field to pure white. No steam, no wordmark, no ‘SVG’ type.”
Wordmark geometry, letters empty. “Text-to-image only if no file exists: original geometric monogram, two letters as abstract blocks not real spelling, charcoal and cream, centered on white. No readable company name, no tagline.”
Pack still that already shows the mark. “Image-to-image: keep this exact bottle silhouette, label, and printed mark. Change only the field to quiet studio gray. No second logo, no hang-tag text.”
9:16 social still, type empty. “4:5 then 9:16 recrop of the locked mark, symbol in the middle third, empty lower band for later overlay. No ‘NEW’, no prices, no Ideogram chrome.”
Vector brief you take elsewhere, after the raster is honest. “Image-to-vector from this exact PNG. Keep the silhouette and color count. Mode: simple. No new shapes, no on-image text.”
Do not generate this. “Infographic that says ‘Ideogram Vector 1, $0.10 SVG, trademark ready, guaranteed print,’ with a fake ™ badge and a cousin icon that now scales.”
Review the pixels before you vectorize them
Zoom to 400%. A phone grid hides a rewritten serif. An SVG will not hide it either.
- Subject honesty. Same silhouette, color count, and geometry. If a stranger would think this brand shipped a new icon, discard the raster.
- Edit honesty. Only the noun you named should move in the raster. If the handle, leaf count, or gap between shapes also moved, the pass failed.
- Path honesty. After vectorize, count the big shapes. A simple mark should not explode into a hundred fragments. If the SVG invents a second leaf, stop; the raster was the last honest file.
- Model honesty. Write the model you used into the file name. A GPT Image 2 still is GPT Image 2. An Ideogram Vector SVG is that SVG. Do not stamp Vector on the JPEG.
- Empty type. Prices, percents, model IDs, ™, and “NEW” stay empty of anything you need people to read.
- People and file. No recognizable generated faces you cannot clear. No children. PNG or JPEG, RGB, quiet field, no watermark, no QR. Preview at favicon size and at print size.
- Provenance. A vector product page is not a license, not a trademark, and not print approval. If a platform requires AI disclosure, follow that policy. Recheck Ideogram’s Vector page before you tell a teammate the endpoints or the dollar figures.
Limitations you should not skip
A generated raster is not a trademark filing, not a commercial-rights grant, and not proof that Ideogram Vector ran. FreeGPTImg does not call Ideogram Vector, does not bill per SVG, and does not turn a JPEG into editable paths. The default loop here is GPT Image 2 stills. Do not generate medical seals, “#1 2026,” or sale badges unless those claims are already on the real label and a manager signed them.
Ideogram’s page is explicit about the two jobs: create a vector from a prompt, or vectorize an image. Text-to-vector can take optional image references; image-to-vector converts a source without a prompt. The vectorizer docs list JPEG, PNG, or WEBP, 50 MB max, and simple / detailed / auto modes. Treat those as Ideogram’s published options, not as a guaranteed clean logo on your mark. Prices move. Recheck the page.
Models invent letters when you mention a launch, a dollar figure, or a model ID as scene dressing. Shorten the brief. One mark. One raster. One vector pass. Empty type. A new paragraph is not a backup of the PNG you already had. If the locked raster is honest, vectorize that. If it is not honest, redraw. Do not ask a vectorizer to remember a mark you never locked.
FAQ
What is Ideogram Vector, and is it live?
Yes. Ideogram’s Vector product page is live as of 25 October 2026. It describes scalable, editable SVG from a prompt or from an existing image, with API routes POST /v2/svg/generate/ideogram-vector-1 and POST /v2/svg/vectorize/ideogram-vector-1.
Should I text-to-vector my logo from a paragraph?
No. If you already have a locked raster that matches the mark you ship, use that file as the image-to-vector input. Text-to-vector is for a first SVG when no honest raster exists. Image-to-vector is for paths on a mark you already trust.
Does FreeGPTImg export SVG?
No. FreeGPTImg is a GPT Image 2 workspace: 20 daily free credits, no credit card required. Use it to lock the raster. Run Ideogram Vector on the platform that actually hosts it.
Is an Ideogram Vector file a finished trademark?
No. A generated SVG is a file. Trademark search, filing, and use-in-commerce rules sit outside any image model. Rebuild or clean the paths, set real type, and get counsel if the mark will represent a real business.
Why did the SVG add a second leaf or the letters “SVG”?
The prompt mentioned a launch, a price, or “make it more vector” as scene dressing. Shorten it. Upload the locked raster. Name one mode. Empty type. Generate again.
Can I put the company name or “$0.10” in the raster?
Not in the generator, not if those words must be exact. Leave type empty. Set the real wordmark in a vector editor after the paths match the mark you ship.

Lock the raster on FreeGPTImg first
Pick the PNG that already matches the mark you ship. Write five lines: keep, one raster change, one later vector pass, empty type. Open FreeGPTImg, stay on GPT Image 2 when that is the label on the screen, explore a first symbol in the AI logo generator, invent a first frame only if you have no file in text to image or the free AI image generator, run the edit in image to image, keep a pack honest in AI product photography, recrop a feed frame in AI social media ads, and only then take the locked raster into Ideogram Vector.
