Build a Consistent AI Sticker Set from One Mascot
Lock one original mascot, then generate 8–12 chat stickers with the same outline, palette, and empty background. Prompt formula plus WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord export sizes.

An AI sticker set works when one original mascot repeats across 8–12 reactions with the same outline, palette, proportions, and empty background. Name the character once, lock keep / change / do-not, and generate a sheet before you crop singles. OpenAI launched ChatGPT Images 2.5 on September 8, 2026, and said it handles more complex layouts, including transparent backgrounds. WhatsApp still wants a 512×512 static sticker with a transparent background. Discord’s upload target is 320×320. Overlay slogans later. Do not invent a second mascot mid-pack.
Start from one character you actually own. Draft in FreeGPTImg, open the sticker set design system, lock the body in a three-view character sheet if the mascot still drifts, stay on GPT Image 2 for the loop in front of you, invent the first pose only in AI text-to-image, reuse a winning pose in image to image, pull a simple mark from the AI logo generator only when the pack needs a tiny badge, or recrop a finished sticker into AI social media ads.
What a sticker set actually does
A sticker set is a pack, not a poster and not a single cute drawing. Chat apps show the art small, on light and dark threads, next to other people’s stickers. If pose two grows new ears, the pack is broken even if pose one looks finished.
Text-to-image invents a mascot. A character sheet locks front, side, and costume. A logo lockup is a mark. A sticker set sits next to those jobs: same creature, many reactions, thick outline, padding, no scenery. The reader should recognize the character in under a second at 64 pixels.
This is original art, not a licensed IP pack. Do not prompt copyrighted characters, celebrity faces, or fake brand logos. Polaroid, Nintendo, Discord’s Wumpus, and WhatsApp’s own tray icons are not yours to clone. If the pack is for a real company, use a mascot you have rights to, and keep registered wordmarks out of the generator.
ChatGPT Images 2.5 can keep a reference subject while you change one expression. GPT-Image-2.5 Flare and Sunburst in the API support background: "transparent" with PNG or WebP output. GPT Image 2 transparent backgrounds remain a preview in the API. FreeGPTImg is a GPT Image 2 workspace: 20 daily free credits, no credit card required. Ask for an empty or transparent-style background in the prompt, then confirm alpha in an editor. Do not relabel a GPT Image 2 sheet as Images 2.5, WhatsApp-ready WebP, or a pixel-perfect cutout.
Pick one pack job before you generate
Weak packs fail because they ask for twelve emotions, a slogan, a seasonal sweater, and a photoreal product in one pass. Name the slot first.
| Job | Start from | Change one thing | Keep | Wrong move |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chat reaction pack | One original mascot sketch or sheet | Expression and one prop | Silhouette, outline weight, palette | A second species on sticker 4 |
| Support / FAQ pack | Same mascot, calmer poses | Gesture only (wave, nod, wait) | Costume and eye shape | Tiny unreadable help text in the image |
| Product community pack | Mascot plus one real SKU silhouette | The object the mascot holds | Product color and outline | Using a sticker as an Amazon main image |
| Seasonal overlay pack | An already approved base pack | Hat, scarf, or background color only | Face and body | A new character “just for December” |
| Print die-cut sheet | The same poses, extra padding | Kiss-cut margin | Flat color, bold edge | Photoreal fur that dies poorly |
| Emoji-adjacent icons | Head-only crop of the mascot | One face per file | Outline that survives 32px | Full scenes and paragraph text |
A sticker is not a marketplace MAIN image. Amazon still wants a realistic photo of the actual product for most categories, typically on a pure white background, with no extra graphics in that slot. Chat stickers, die-cuts, and listing heroes are three exports. Overlay real words in an editor. Names, URLs, prices, and “50% off” never belong in the generator if they must be exact.
One-mascot sticker sheet workflow
Use the same sequence in the sticker set tool, a GPT Image 2 tab, ChatGPT Images 2.5, or an API call that requests a transparent PNG.
- Write the character bible in five lines. Species or object, body shape, costume, three hex colors, outline width. If you cannot say it in five lines, the pack will drift.
- Choose eight reactions, not twenty. Wave, heart, laugh, think, sleepy, celebrate, sorry, and wait cover most chat. Extra poses are a second sheet.
- Lock the canvas. Generate a square sheet first, usually 3×3 or 2×4 with even gutters, so you can judge consistency before you crop.
- Write keep / change / do-not. Keep the mascot. Change only the face and one handheld prop. Do not add scenery, captions, watermarks, or a second character.
- Ask for an empty background. “Fully empty background, no table, no checkerboard, no room.” If you need a true alpha channel, export PNG or WebP in a tool that actually writes alpha. JPEG will not.
- Inspect identity before cuteness. If sticker 3 has new hair or a new snout, stop. Do not crop a broken sheet into twelve files.
- Crop to the platform last. One master sheet, then one file per app. Do not stretch one rectangle across WhatsApp, Discord, and print.
- Test on light and dark. WhatsApp recommends an 8-pixel white
#FFFFFFstroke and a 16-pixel margin inside 512×512 because stickers sit on many chat backgrounds.
OpenAI’s Images 2.5 notes still help if you never open ChatGPT: keep the subject, edit one element, expect earlier choices to survive later turns. That is a pack rule. It is not a license to run ten palettes until the mascot becomes someone else.
Prompt formula
Sticker set, not a poster and not a new character.
Subject: one original [mascot], [body shape], [costume], [three colors], thick even outline.
Sheet: [8 or 12] stickers on a clean grid, even gutters, each sticker isolated.
Keep: same face structure, proportions, outline weight, and palette on every tile.
Change only: the listed reactions — [wave, laugh, think, sleepy, celebrate, sorry, wait, heart].
Background: fully empty / transparent-style, no scenery, no table, no checkerboard.
Text in image: none. No slogans, usernames, prices, or fake app UI.
Do not add: copyrighted characters, celebrity likenesses, brand logos, extra mascots, or photoreal skin.
Prompt examples
SaaS cloud mascot. “Create an 8-sticker sheet of one original rounded cloud character with two tiny feet, a small scarf, thick white outline, palette oat / sky / charcoal. Same face on every tile. Reactions only: wave, think, celebrate, sleepy, sorry, heart, wait, laugh. Empty background, even 3×3 grid with one blank cell. No text, no other weather icons, no company wordmark.”
Coffee cup community pack. “One original takeaway cup character, matte kraft sleeve, teal lid, thick cream outline, flat shading. 2×4 sheet. Keep the lid color and sleeve stripe. Change only: sleepy, focused, cheers, spill-oops, heart, wait, celebrate, think. Transparent-style background, padding around each cup. No cafe interior, no readable cafe name, no barcode.”
Guild creature, head-and-shoulders. “Original small horned forest creature, round body, leaf cloak, four colors only. Eight chat reactions, bold outline, high contrast for Discord. Same horns and eye shape every time. Empty background. No armor logos, no map, no invented guild lettering.”
If the first sheet splits into two characters, shorten the prompt. One mascot. Then retry. Free retry exists on FreeGPTImg when a generation misses. Use it on the same bible, not a new species.
Export sizes you should not guess
Generate the sheet large. Crop and compress in an editor. Recheck the live help page before you upload; platforms change file caps.
| Platform | Static size | File cap (static) | Format notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exactly 512×512 | 100 KB | Transparent background; packs 3–30; do not mix static and animated; tray icon 96×96, 50 KB | |
| Telegram | One side exactly 512 px, other ≤512 | See @Stickers / current docs | PNG or WebP; transparent recommended |
| Discord custom sticker | Exactly 320×320 | 512 KB | PNG for static; APNG or GIF for animated per Discord’s August 11, 2026 upload notes |
WhatsApp’s design help also asks for an 8-pixel white stroke and a 16-pixel margin so the art survives busy chat backgrounds. Telegram’s static rule is “one side exactly 512,” not “about 500.” Discord does not auto-fix a 512 upload the way some avatar fields do. Build a 1024 master, then export the exact target. Animated stickers are a different pipeline (animated WebP, TGS, APNG). Do not ask GPT Image 2 for a looping sticker and expect a valid TGS file.
Review the pixels before you ship the pack
Zoom to 100%. A grid thumbnail hides a new nose.
- Identity. Same silhouette, eye shape, and costume on every tile. If a stranger cannot match sticker 7 to sticker 1, discard the sheet.
- Outline. Even stroke. Hairline outlines vanish in WhatsApp. A second outline color mid-pack looks like a different product.
- Background honesty. Empty means empty. A painted checkerboard is not alpha. A pale gray slab will flash as a box in dark mode.
- Type honesty. No generated slogans. If the pack needs a word, overlay it later at a size you can spell-check.
- Provenance and rights. OpenAI still uses C2PA metadata and an invisible watermark on GPT Image outputs. Downstream apps may keep, strip, or flag that data. You also need rights to the mascot and permission if a real person is recognizable. A cuter drawing is not a license.
Limitations you should not skip
A sticker sheet is not a print RIP, not a messaging-app certificate, and not legal clearance. Do not upload someone else’s mascot “to see the style.” Do not ask the model to imitate a celebrity, a copyrighted game character, or another company’s tray icon. If a platform requires AI disclosure, follow that policy.
ChatGPT Images 2.5 is not GPT Image 2. Transparent backgrounds in Images 2.5 / Flare / Sunburst are an API and ChatGPT capability, not a promise that every FreeGPTImg download is a true RGBA PNG. On FreeGPTImg you are in a GPT Image 2 loop with the sticker set tool. Write the model you used into the file name.
Better subject preservation is not an infinite remix. If turn three redraws the snout, revert. Photoreal products belong in product photography tools. A catalog white background is a different job.
FAQ
What is an AI sticker set generator?
It is a pack workflow: one original mascot, many reactions, shared outline and palette, empty background. FreeGPTImg includes a sticker set design system on GPT Image 2, with 20 daily free credits and no credit card required.
How many stickers should I generate first?
Eight. Wave, heart, laugh, think, sleepy, celebrate, sorry, and wait. WhatsApp packs allow 3–30 static stickers and must not mix static with animated. Add a second sheet only after the first eight match.
Will FreeGPTImg export a WhatsApp-ready 512×512 WebP?
Treat the generator as the concept and consistency pass. Crop to 512×512, add the recommended white stroke and margin, convert to WebP or PNG, and stay under 100 KB in an editor. Confirm alpha there. Do not assume the first download is upload-ready.
Can I use copyrighted characters if I “only use them for fun”?
No. Prompt original mascots unless you have permission. Skip celebrity likenesses and unauthorized brand assets. Fun is not a license.
Can I use a sticker as my Amazon main image?
Usually no. For most categories the main image must be a realistic photo of the actual product, typically on a pure white background, without lifestyle props, frames, or extra graphics. Keep stickers for chat, merch, and secondary slots.
Why did sticker 5 look like a different character?
The prompt asked for a new outfit, a seasonal theme, extra text, or a second look on top of the first. Shorten it. Repeat the five-line bible. Generate the sheet again. If the face still drifts, lock a character sheet first, then return to the pack.

Make one pack on FreeGPTImg
Write five lines for one mascot. Ask for eight reactions and an empty background. Open FreeGPTImg, run the job in the sticker set design system, stay on GPT Image 2 when that is the model in front of you, and crop to WhatsApp, Telegram, or Discord only after every tile still looks like the same character.
